I've kind of been all over the place for the past month or so. Professionally a lot has been up in the air and I'd finally like to take a couple of minutes to tell you a bit more about what I've been up-to.
Roughly this time last year I began working as a hardware buyer for a fairly well known local retailer. Great company - full of promise, some awesome people and lots of potential. However, things did not go as planned, and without going into too much detail - something didn't click. I wasn't feeling the company or my role; leading me to become increasingly frustrated with what I was doing, making me question and doubt my skills and wonder I was heading.
Over the course of the past couple of months I've been approached about a few opportunities and have come in runner-up for two positions, but still wasn't sure what to do next. Then, as luck would have it - a phone call came my way right before my departure to Saskatchewan.
A couple of meetings, and a lot of thought and consideration later I've decided to make the jump to another role.
I'm excited. I'm scared. I'm looking forward to new challenges. New people. New adventures.
That and I'm sicker than a dog.
I wrapped up my last role this past Friday and am taking the week to clear my head and also to get over the wicked cold that came my way this past weekend. I didn't realize that I was so rundown from everything, but I'm really feeling....flemish. Seriously, this boy needs to buy shares in Kleenex.
Anyways, I'm on the mend, and have some fun stuff to share with you over the next week as I enjoy a bit of 'Dan time'....some new projects to share and some adventures to be had - all leading into my new big adventure starting next week!
Anyways, time to go find some more Kleenex and another glass of orange juice.
Any remedies for the common cold worth sharing?
