I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things following my long weekend adventure. I was able to breeze through work and was happy to come home to a quiet place. No music. No TV. No noisy people. Total silence. My goal for the evening - to do a couple loads of laundry, scrub down my bathroom and get everything back in order.
Easier said than done.
Instead, I've spent the past hour checking out yellow accessories, yellow rooms, yellow pillows, yellow pottery and yellow furniture. Why yellow? Well, you see, I wasn't sure if it was going to rain this past weekend or not so I decided to bring my yellow outdoor cushions inside.
Remember these guys?
While I realize that they would have been perfectly fine left outside, I ended up throwing them on my club chair. This evening when I walked in, I was like "I like yellow." Which is funny, because with the exception of my two outdoor cushions and a ceramic juice pitcher that I picked up a couple of months ago, I don't own anything yellow. Well, okay, there might be a polo shirt lost in the back of my closet, but let's not go there (I looked like a giant lemon).
So long story short, I ended up on Pinterest checking out pictures of yellow products and rooms (housework can wait...), wondering why I haven't incorporated more of this cheery and fun colour into my space. I've almost even convinced myself that I must at some point paint a piece of furniture yellow - just for the fun of it. It's one of those colours that you can't help but love - there's something about it that basically screams "happy."

I've yet to determine if this novel idea of introducing yellow into my space is something that I'll actually end-up doing, or if it's just a passing idea - like the time I brought home black paint chips for my bedroom walls (I'm still convinced that at some point I'll have a black wall....just not an entire bedroom).

Anyways, without further rambling, here are some of my favourite rooms that have added that extra punch. These home owners (or in most cases the stylists that put together these spaces) we're afraid to go for it....will I follow suit?

I'm generally a guy that gravitates towards blues, greens and grey. What tones do you find yourself surrounded by? How many t-shirts in that colour do you own?
Now back to that laundry!
